1 BIG Question:
Can you ethically exploit data for operational purposes?

Liverpool, L1

11th December 2024, 10am

Round table focus

The theme of the day is to discuss the opportunities and challenges of accessing and exploiting available datasets to improve operational effectiveness without eroding public confidence. A diverse array of keynote speakers will focus in-depth addressing the legal, policy, ethical, technical and operational considerations exploiting data given the risk of bias or systemic inequities embedded in data sources.

The afternoon workshop will be an opportunity for people having listened to our expert speakers to discuss when and how these challenges and opportunities can be best approached to support their operational objectives.

Those attending will leave with a much greater perspective and understanding of the legal, ethical, technical and operational considerations of utilising open and closed source datasets to support their intelligence collection and investigative requirements.

There will be a broad range of organisations represented with different needs and perspectives which will enable vibrant and diverse discussions. The approach to this subject is becoming a pressing issue with a requirement to translate discussion into actionable outcomes. All those attending will subsequently receive a post event outcomes brochure which will evaluate and summarise the days outputs detailing the solution outcomes and actions that are identified from the design thinking workshops. This will enable and support participants to navigate the complex landscape of this subject to understand, prepare and respond to the challenges ahead. After the event there will also be opportunities to meet all those attending and widen your professional network.
